Finished!

I finished my blanket! I’ll be getting pictures up soon. I don’t have a digital camera so I’m going to have to wait until my boyfriend comes home tomorrow to borrow his. I really like it. It’s not as long as I would have wish for it to be, but it will be a nice lap blanket.

Still working on my bag- almost done with the chart! I’ve decided I’m only going to do the chart on one side, even if I have the design backwards. Mom’s going to help me line it with fabric when I’m done. :) I’m pretty excited about the whole thing.

Life Anew

So I’ve decided that I want to invent a new life for myself. I’m tired of doing the same thing every day, and not feeling any more accomplished or satisfied as when I began. Does anyone have any advice for me?

I’d like to start getting up earlier and doing yoga. I think that and starting new exercises little by little will be beneficial for me. I also want to experiment with the programs on Neuro Programmer some more. I love how I’m getting better rest when I listen to it at night; I can’t wait to see what it will do during the day!

I also want to nurture my interest in fish. I can feel my love waning along with everything else, which is especially not good as there are living things that need my attention in order to live. I don’t want any of my babies to die, so this is a definite must.

I also home to become a more accomplished knitter. Scarves, bags, and blankets are fun and all, but I want to be able to tackle other things, too. I can’t always depend on my grandmother to show me how to do something when I get stuck, right?

All in all it feels like a new day- and a new me. :)

So I discovered last night that Roger and Ralph the parrot cichlids chewed through the stalk of one of my plants. I was so angry I wanted to flick them or something (of course I didn’t). I know they need vegetation in their diets, but couldn’t they have chewed on the leaves instead? I mean, they chewed through the stalk!!

I need to get a bigger tank for them, but I highly doubt that’s going to happen any time soon. 1) I need to pay off Ole Miss first (boo), and 2) I need to find a place to put the stupid thing. I thought about on the floor, but Dad would have a fit. Maybe if I take care of it and buy all of the equipment, they’ll let me keep it in the living room or something. That would be nice…. Doubt it will happen though.

I just realized I’m a very pessimistic person. Hmmm…. Wonder why that is. I’m also a very boring person…

Me!

Okay, I’m really bored, so I’m going to post some pictures of me!

-sigh-

Here I am, sitting at work, waiting for 5:30 to roll around so I can clock in again. My life is boring. It doesn’t help that my van doesn’t work, either, so I’m not able to go home and chill.

I decided that I wasn’t happy with my first fair isle project, so I scrapped it. I am now working on a bag with Harry Potter’s “Dark Mark” on it. So far it’s looking pretty cool. I just worry about putting a lining in it when I’m done. I also did the pattern backwards, as it’s my first time using a fair isle chart.  Here is a site with pictures, instructions, and the chart: http://www.stormmoonknits.com/darkmarkbag.html. I wish I had packed in my laptop bag, then I’d have something else to do while I wait for my next shift…

Tropical Storm Faye has finished passing through, I think. It’s starting to get sunnier here, which means we’ll probably get busier. Lucky me. -rolls eyes-

I just noticed we have roosters as decorations in our McAlister’s store… Weird…

I feel so craftsy, and yet none of this creativity is directed toward my story. :( I’m kind of sad. I wonder if I should just give up on it… I did get farther than any of my other stories, though- was working on the fifth chapter!

I wish we had a Hot Topic here in Meridian… I wouldn’t mind looking around in there while I wait..

fish and such

I have just started feeding Morgana (my figure eight puffer) the snails she needs. It’s so much fun to watch because she’s never sure whether she actually wants them or not, so she picks at them. I kind of feel sorry for the snails, for they must be scared to death to see her coming, but I’d prefer that my little baby is well fed. :)

I also thought I’d add some pictures of my fish. Here they are:

I’m very proud of my fish. I just wish I had some pictures of the tank that Dusty has. :\

Still wanting to play a game…. I guess I’m just going to install Age of Mythology onto my laptop.

Waiting For My Shift to Start

I don’t really want to go to work today. It’s funny how at your first job, your all excited and happy to be working and earning money. I’ve only been working at McAlister’s for about two weeks now, and that feeling has already worn off. Now I dread going to work. I guess the good thing is that I’m doing better at taking call-in orders and I now know how to make tea and coffee at work.

I’m wondering whether my relationship is going to last. We apparently love each other very much, but we cannot stop fighting. He can’t even bother to remember what time I go in to work today, even though he asked me three times within a small amount of time last night. We just don’t have anything in common, either. I don’t understand why we don’t just break up.

I currently have three knitting projects going. They are:

One is a striped baby/lap blanket that originally was going to be a rug for my room.  It’s black, lime green, black, forest green in that order repeating throughout the blanket. It looks pretty cool so far. and I’m almost  done with it.

The second is my first fair isle attempt. It’s going to be scarf. It’s knitted from side to side; all that’s left for me to do is finish the ribbing on the other side of the scarf. I hate ribbing. It’s so obnoxious, especially for how I hold the yarn. (I learned how to knit very strangely, according to my grandmother. I don’t use any method of holding the yarn, I just pick it up when I need to use it.)

The last project is a rug for the kitchen, using plarn made from plastic white bags and green fruit bags. It’s a green and white striped pattern, in garter stitch. I’m a bit over halfway done. I really like the idea of knitting with plarn because it’s environmentally friendly and it puts all of those unused plastic bags to use.

-sigh- I never know what to write in these things….

I’ve been having a real craving to play computer games lately. Thing is, I don’t really have any good games I’m interested in playing. Currently I’m playing Neverwinter Nights, but I don’t like constantly talking to people in game (not that I’m talking to real people online -_-). I really want to play Neverwinter Nights 2, but I promised my boyfriend Dusty that I would wait to play it with him. And I’m just plain bored with Age of Mythology. So, the gamer’s itch continues.

I’ve also become obsessed with fair isle knitting. I’ve been trying to find some nice patterns for a scarf, but have had no luck so far. If anyone could help me out by sending me links, I would greatly appreciate it. I’m not advanced enough for sweaters or socks. Even an afghan or blanket patter would be nice…

The babies (fish) are doing well. I’ve gotten a new addition to the family, a Figure Eight Puffer named Morgana. She’s my pride and joy. <3 I’ve had some success in training her to be handfed, but no complete successes. She’s just nibbled at the bloodworms that I hold and will only eat them if I release whatever is in my hand. I’m going to try to get some pictures up soon of her, along with my other fish.
